TREZEN – Perindopril is used for:

Treating high blood pressure. It may be used alone or along with other medicines. It is also used to reduce the risk of heart attack or death caused by heart problems in patients with stable coronary artery disease. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

TREZEN – Perindopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels. This helps to lower blood pressure.

Do NOT use TREZEN – Perindopril if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in TREZEN – Perindopril
  • you are pregnant
  • you have a history of angioedema (swelling of the hands, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or hoarseness), including angioedema caused by treatment with an ACE inhibitor (eg, lisinopril)
  • you have severe kidney problems
  • you are also taking aliskiren and you have diabetes or kidney problems

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using TREZEN – Perindopril:

  • Gold-containing medicines (eg, auranofin) because flushing, nausea, vomiting, and low blood pressure may occur
  • Dextran sulfate or diuretics (eg, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) because they may increase the risk of TREZEN – Perindopril’s side effects
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, celecoxib, ibuprofen, indomethacin) because they may increase the risk of kidney problems and decrease TREZEN – Perindopril’s effectiveness
